The Westside's Marina Mago has long emphasized family dining. The legacy started in 1968 when Joe and Alice Fukumoto began offering Cal-Asian-style hamburgers at Mago's Famous Hamburger stand. It soon became famous for its eclectic and imaginative menu, which spawned favorites such as the avocado cha-shew burger and cha-shew burrito. In 1982, Grandpa Joe opened Marina Mago with family dining in mind. Despite his passing, Marina Mago remains a family operation, managed by his grandson Jonathan Fukumoto. With the motto, "Family dining, from our family to yours," the restaurant offers Japanese cuisine in a peace and tranquil setting.
