The Mishima Japanese noodle restaurant chain began in April 1991 with their first shop located in West L.A.'s Sawtelle corridor. Specializing in the thick flour noodle, udon, and the thin buckwheat soba, Mishima offers a variety of tastes; from the spicy mentaiko (flavorful fish roe) to the wakame (seaweed), and chikara (soft rice cakes). The noodle restaurant is also popular for their large combination mealstanuki udon or soba with oyako donburi or seasoned rice balls. For Tofu Festival, they will be preparing tofu salad with seaweed, bonito flakes and a special cream dressing, and agedashi tofu with wild mushrooms.
