In 1981, Chef Sato created an elegant dining experience in Arcadia with the comforts of home, his home. Chez Sateau, in addition to the French-Continental cuisines, offers some of Sato's most creative inventions. Those field tested at last year's Tofu Festival include his own tofu cheese mousse, tofu ravioli salad, tofu and mushroom with Japanese-style dressing, and tofu quiche lorraine. Chef Sato has won many accolades, among them the distinctions of 1979 "Chef of the Year of Los Angeles," and 1980 "Chef of the Year for Southern California." He was also a member of the 1980 U.S. Team for the Cooking Competition. In addition to his already outstanding bakery adjacent to the Chez, Sato has recently added the Palm Tree Patio Grill, which features a healthier menu.
