How to Apply for Entertainment
Entertainers
Our stage offers continuous entertainment throughout the festival. We look for Asian acts but consider accomplished community groups as well.
Volunteers
An event this size depends on hundreds of dedicated volunteers that can help before, during and after the event. School groups, college students, community service groups and clubs are invited to participate. Children must be age 13 or older to volunteer at this event.
Tofu Festival volunteers are instrumental in…
PROMOTING: Join the Tofu Festival Street Team and attend various festivals and events throughout the Los Angeles area to promote the event by handing out flyers and posters.
SET-UP: Setting up booths, covering tables, hanging banners and signs, and distributing supplies prior to the event.
FOOD/DRINK BOOTHS: Collecting scrip tickets and serving various dishes/beverages in food and drink booths. We are expecting to have 40 booths all serving a dish or drink made with soy.
RUNNERS: Maintaining and restocking booths with supplies including ice, plates, and plastic wear.
CLEAN UP: Maintaining eating area by disposing of all plates and cups from tables and sweeping trash from the ground. Also help in cleaning up after the event.
To those of you who helped us last year, we would love to see you again. For those who missed out, it is a rewarding and enjoyable way to contribute to LTSC and the community of Little Tokyo.
Volunteer applications are closed three weeks prior to the event. Please do not wait until the very last minute to sign-up. Assignments will be made on a first come first serve basis and as requested by the festival staff.
